Are you an experienced, results-driven Business Development Manager with a passion for luxury and lifestyle brands? Pro-invest Hotels (PIH) is seeking a dynamic Business Development Manager for our Luxury & Lifestyle Portfolio in Sydney. This key role will drive growth, revenue, and strategic partnerships across our portfolio of upscale hotels, focusing on acquiring corporate accounts and managing sales segmentation for maximum profitability.

Position Overview:

As the Business Development Manager, you will play a vital role in maximizing revenue opportunities and growing our market share across the Sydney-based hotels in our Luxury & Lifestyle portfolio. You will be responsible for developing and executing short- and long-term sales strategies, identifying new business opportunities, and managing key accounts to ensure growth in revenue and room nights. This role will involve close collaboration with our internal sales teams and global brand partners, as well as regular engagement with key decision-makers in the corporate sector.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Performance:

  • Drive sales strategies to achieve revenue and room night goals, focusing on market differentiation, long-term trends, and new opportunities.
  • Monitor competitor activity and adjust strategies to grow market share and sales pipelines.
  • Build and maintain relationships with corporate clients, driving new business and maximizing existing opportunities.
  • Actively participate in sales trips, trade shows, and industry events to promote the portfolio and attract new accounts.
  • Analyze local market dynamics, economic trends, and demand generators to adjust strategies accordingly.

People & Leadership:

  • Work closely with the Senior Director of Sales and Hotel General Managers to align sales strategies with business needs.
  • Educate, train, and motivate the sales and hotel teams to achieve revenue targets and business goals.
  • Maintain a strong, collaborative relationship with key internal and external stakeholders, ensuring alignment across teams.

Customer Relations:

  • Conduct site inspections, client entertainment, and familiarization trips to promote the portfolio and strengthen client relationships.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with decision-makers, including meeting planners, corporate buyers, and global sales teams.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to clients, ensuring all commitments are met and customer expectations are exceeded.

Responsible Business:

  • Ensure compliance with all Pro-invest Hotels policies and standards, including ethical conduct, safety, and environmental procedures.
  • Uphold Pro-invest’s brand reputation in the local community and participate in industry associations.
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations, including data privacy, and financial control procedures.

Key Metrics:

  • Achievement of sales targets and revenue growth
  • Revenue Generation Index (RGI) performance
  • Achievement of sales-controlled segments and hotel revenue budgets
  • Key performance objectives as agreed with leadership

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Hospitality Management, or equivalent international qualification. Formal Sales Management training is a plus.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years in a similar sales role within the hospitality industry, preferably within the luxury and lifestyle segment.
  • Skills:
    • Strong understanding of sales principles and techniques
    • Proven ability in business development and account management
    • Exceptional communication and negotiation skills
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
    • Proficiency in hotel systems and revenue management principles
    • Ability to identify market trends and create innovative sales strategies
