As part of the global IHG family and a bold, art-deco boutique hotel in the heart of Sydney, we’re seeking a passionate and proactive Duty Manager to join our leadership team and help deliver exceptional experiences to every guest, every time.

About the Role

As a Duty Manager, you’ll lead day-to-day hotel operations across your shift, acting as the key contact for guests and supporting all departments to ensure the delivery of seamless, high-quality service. You’ll drive a culture of True Hospitality and Kimpton personality, respond to guest needs, resolve issues, and mentor front-line staff while maintaining operational excellence and compliance with brand and safety standards.

What You’ll Do

• Deliver warm, personalised service by being present in the lobby and public areas, resolving guest feedback, and ensuring memorable stays.
• Lead and support the front office team while coordinating with other departments to maintain a smooth guest journey.
• Handle daily briefings, monitor VIP arrivals, and ensure accurate communication of special requests and billing.
• Assist in driving IHG One Rewards enrolments and ensure loyalty recognition at all guest touchpoints.
• Support hotel performance by analysing rate variance, managing revenue control, and ensuring audit and security compliance.
• Oversee food & beverage operations in the absence of senior leaders, ensuring a consistent Kimpton standard.
• Maintain workplace health and safety practices, assist in emergency preparedness, and contribute to responsible business practices.
• Mentor and coach team members, help with performance feedback, staffing, and ensure effective handovers between shifts.

What We’re Looking For

• Proven experience in a similar front office or duty manager role, ideally within a luxury or lifestyle hotel environment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a guest-first mindset.
• Confidence in leading teams and handling high-pressure situations calmly.
• Experience with hotel systems (e.g. Opera PMS) and an understanding of compliance and safety regulations.
• Flexibility to work across a rotating 24/7 roster including weekends and public holidays.
