As the Front of House Duty Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth running of the check in desk and also managing the all-day lounge bar.  This unique hands-on hybrid role requires you to be multiskilled in both food and beverage and front office ensuring there is never a dull moment. 

If you are in a leadership role in either front office of food & beverage and ready to learn the other, we are ready to teach you! Although experience in both areas is favourable.

Position Requirements:

  • To assist in all aspects of running the front desk and the food & beverage outlet.
  • Warmly welcome guests upon arrival, offer them a seamless check in experience and ensure all their needs are met
  • Have the ability to run a breakfast or dinner service as required
  • Handle and resolve any guest concerns effectively with confidence and in a professional manner
  • Ensure the team is consistently being trained and developed for future growth opportunities
  • Accommodate the requests and needs of all guests, make recommendations, upsell rooms and related services.
  • Answer all incoming calls promptly and pleasantly and provide appropriate assistance
  • Responsible to maintain an updated MOD log on every shift
  • Check rooms, making sure any special requests are carried out accordingly
  • Be levelheaded to handle any emergencies within the hotel, including acting as the Chief Fire Warden and First Aid Officer
  • Experience in overnights and rolling the system seen as advantageous
  • Build strong positive cross departmental relationships and provide support as required
  • Coordinate and oversee the running of the hotel in the absence of Senior Management

You will possess:

  • A positive ‘can do’ attitude and ability to sincerely connect with guests
  • Minimum 1 years’ experience as a Duty Manager or 2 years' experience as as a Food & Beverage leader in a 4/5-star hotel 
  • The ability to multi-task, work under pressure and problem solve effectively.
  • The flexibility to work a 24/7 roster, including public holidays and weekends.
  • Experience with a hotel property management system
  • Ability to learn how to make barista grade coffees and cocktails 
  • A current First Aid Certificate and RSA Qualification
