Job Overview:

As Handy Person at Hotel Indigo Flinders Melbourne, managed by Pro-invest Group, you will play a crucial role in maintaining our property to the highest standards. Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor/Portfolio Facilities Manager, you will conduct repairs and upkeep tasks promptly and professionally, ensuring adherence to IHG brand standards and local regulations.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain positive relationships within the hotel team and coordinate with external trades as needed.
• Conduct routine inspections of guest rooms and public spaces, addressing maintenance issues promptly.
• Respond to guest maintenance requests promptly and effectively to enhance their experience.
• Perform general handy person duties such as patching, painting, light bulb replacement, door and bathroom maintenance, and FF&E repairs.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of plant rooms and storage areas.
• Adhere to IHG Brand Safety Standards and implement the hotel’s preventative maintenance system.
• Champion environmentally friendly initiatives and efficient recycling methods.
• Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety guidelines.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Trade qualification or vocational certificate preferred.
• Previous experience in a similar Handy Person role, ideally within a hotel environment.
• Solid understanding of Safe Work practices and OH&S regulations.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and guests.
• Ability to work independently and make sound decisions under pressure.
• Legal eligibility to work in Australia.
