Position Overview
Sage Hotel Ringwood is seeking a Kitchen Hand to support our kitchen team in delivering a seamless dining experience for our guests. As a Kitchen Hand, you’ll play an essential role in maintaining cleanliness, assisting with food prep, and ensuring the smooth operation of the kitchen. Your work will contribute to the high standards we uphold in our restaurant and food service operations. This is an exciting opportunity for individuals who are eager to work in a fast-paced environment while developing their skills in the culinary world.
Core Responsibilities
Ensure compliance with all Vista Hospitality Group (VHG) Brand and Service Standards, delivering a top-quality experience for guests.
Maintain a clean, safe, and well-organized kitchen by following health, safety, and hygiene procedures.
Assist chefs with food preparation, including measuring and assembling ingredients, ensuring correct portion sizes.
Set up and maintain workstations with necessary ingredients and equipment.
Perform pantry duties, ensuring food is stored properly and minimizing waste.
Handle kitchen equipment with care and report any malfunctions or damages to supervisors.
Support with general kitchen cleaning, including washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, and keeping the environment orderly.
Participate in team meetings and share suggestions on improving kitchen operations and cost control.
Report any incidents of guest dissatisfaction promptly to supervisors, ensuring swift resolution.
Assist with inventory management and minimize wastage by utilizing correct tools and techniques.
Participate in training sessions to enhance kitchen skills and operational knowledge.
What We’re Looking For
Experience: Prior experience in a kitchen or food service environment is a plus, but not essential.
Passion for Hospitality: A positive attitude, with the drive to support the team and deliver excellent service.
Attention to Detail: Ability to follow instructions, manage food preparation, and maintain cleanliness standards.
Team Player: Strong communication skills and a willingness to collaborate with colleagues.
