Position Overview
Kimpton Margot Sydney is seeking a Casual Kitchen Steward / Kitchenhand to join our kitchen team in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. You will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and hygiene of the kitchen and food & beverage areas, assisting with food preparation, dishwashing, and general cleaning tasks. Key Responsibilities

  • Cleaning & Hygiene: Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment, ensuring they are spotless and in good working condition. Maintain cleanliness across all food preparation and service areas.
  • Food Preparation: Assist the kitchen team with food prep, ensuring stock is rotated properly and ingredients are ready for service.
  • Cleaning Schedules: Follow and maintain regular cleaning schedules for kitchen areas, storage spaces, and other service areas.
  • Stock Control: Monitor stock levels, ensuring supplies are replenished, and assist with deliveries and storage of food items.
  • Team Support: Work closely with chefs and kitchen staff to ensure smooth, efficient service. Assist with general kitchen duties and communicate effectively with your team.
  • Safety & Hygiene Compliance: Follow health and safety guidelines, including food safety and sanitation protocols, to ensure a safe working environment.

Position Requirements

  • Passionate about working in a kitchen and keen to progress your career in hospitality.
  • Previous experience in a commercial kitchen is beneficial but not required.
  • Strong ability to multi-task and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work well both independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
