About the Role

As the Night Manager at Holiday Inn Express Melbourne Southbank, you will oversee hotel operations during the night shift, ensuring the safety and security of the property while delivering exceptional guest experiences. You’ll also act as the hotel’s Finance & Business Support representative, taking responsibility for key financial processes and controls that support our revenue and profit goals.

You will be a vital part of our team, helping maintain high standards of service and compliance with IHG brand guidelines and local regulations.

What You’ll Do

• Manage hotel operations during the night shift, including security and guest services.
• Conduct the night audit and oversee financial controls such as revenue auditing, account payable, credit card transactions, and purchasing policies.
• Collaborate with hotel management to monitor financial performance, identify discrepancies, and implement improvements.
• Lead and support night staff, ensuring high performance, adherence to brand standards, and quality guest service.
• Provide coaching, training, and regular feedback to team members.
• Respond promptly and professionally to guest needs and complaints, ensuring positive outcomes.
• Maintain hotel safety and emergency procedures, including acting as a key contact during emergencies.
• Support hotel compliance with WH&S policies, local government regulations, and IHG brand safety standards.
• Contribute to community engagement and uphold responsible business practices.

• Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to mentor and motivate staff.
• Financial acumen and experience with hotel revenue management and auditing.
• Excellent guest service focus with the ability to handle challenging situations calmly and effectively.
• Knowledge of IHG brand standards and hotel operational procedures.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently during night shifts while maintaining collaboration with management and other departments.
• Commitment to safety, security, and compliance in a hospitality environment.
