As a pivotal player in the hospitality sector, Pro-invest Group is seeking a Business Development Manager – Groups & Meetings to drive revenue growth and strategic enhancements within our dynamic Groups and Meetings Hub.

Position Overview:

In this crucial role, you will be responsible for generating and managing revenue opportunities in the Groups and Meetings segment. Reporting to the Director of Sales – Groups & Meetings, you will work closely with a talented team of Business Development Managers and sales executives. Your key responsibilities will include developing sales strategies, managing client relationships, and ensuring seamless execution of meetings and events across our portfolio.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Management: Collaborate with the Director of Sales to set and achieve sales targets. Lead proactive sales initiatives and provide guidance to Sales Executives.

  • Sales Strategy and Execution: Identify and pursue MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) opportunities, convert business, and prepare personalized quotes. Report on market trends and assist in forecasting.

  • Client Relationship Management: Ensure smooth client handovers, maintain strong client relationships, and follow up on events to secure repeat business.

  • Contracting and Negotiation: Manage contract accuracy, negotiate terms, and oversee compliance with terms and conditions.

  • Revenue Maximization and Cost Control: Work towards revenue targets, control costs, and maintain high standards.

  • Guest & Client Experience: Personalize service, ensure event execution, and address guest inquiries.

Responsible Business:

  • Ensure compliance with security, safety, and data privacy standards.
  • Report and address workplace hazards and incidents.
  • Uphold high standards of behavior and appearance.
  • Implement financial controls and adhere to legal guidelines.

Reporting & Performance Metrics:

  • Report to the Sales Director – Groups & Meetings.
  • KPIs include achievement of sales targets, Revenue Generation Index (RGI), hotel revenue budgets, and more.

Experience, Knowledge, and Skills:

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in event sales with a proven track record.
  • Proactive and skilled in relationship building with clients and stakeholders.
  • Strong knowledge of sales and event principles, market trends, and consumer behavior.
  • Proficiency in public speaking, Microsoft Office, and excellent communication skills.
  • Australian Residency required.

Qualifications:

  • Completed tertiary education (higher education diploma).

Key Relationships:

  • Internal: Portfolio Sales team, Hotel teams, Revenue and Reservations.
  • External: Customers
