Are you a hands-on problem solver with a passion for keeping things running smoothly? Kimpton Margot Sydney is seeking a reliable and skilled Handyperson to join our Engineering team. You'll be a key player in maintaining our beautiful heritage-listed hotel and ensuring every guest enjoys a safe, seamless, and memorable stay.

About the Role

Reporting directly to the Chief Engineer, the Handyperson is responsible for performing a wide range of maintenance and repair tasks across guest rooms and public spaces. You’ll be conducting routine inspections, handling guest requests, and carrying out general maintenance including patching and painting, fixing doors, replacing light bulbs, and assisting with furniture and fixture repairs.

What You’ll Do

• Perform daily maintenance and repair tasks throughout the hotel
• Respond promptly to guest maintenance requests
• Conduct regular inspections of rooms and public areas
• Assist in executing the hotel’s preventative maintenance program
• Liaise with external contractors and coordinate work as needed
• Maintain stock levels of tools and supplies within budget
• Uphold IHG brand safety standards and WHS guidelines
• Support the hotel team in emergency procedures and safety protocols

What We’re Looking For

• Previous experience in general maintenance, handyman, or property care role
• A strong understanding of OH&S and safety compliance
• Proactive, reliable, and able to prioritise tasks independently
• Good communication skills and a team-first attitude
• Physically fit and capable of manual work
• Flexible availability to support hotel operations as needed
