The Role:

As a Commis Chef at Kimpton Margot Sydney, you’ll be working closely with our Head Chef and Senior Sous Chef to craft dishes that are as delicious as they are dazzling. From preparing mouthwatering ingredients to presenting plates that are nothing short of art, you’ll play a key role in delivering experiences that our guests will rave about.

What You’ll Do:

  • Create Culinary Magic: Dive into food preparation with enthusiasm and skill, turning fresh ingredients into dishes that delight and inspire.
  • Precision in Every Plate: Measure, cut, and portion ingredients with accuracy, following recipes to create dishes that are both beautiful and tasty.
  • Elevate Every Dish: Maintain top-notch quality and freshness, ensuring every plate that leaves the kitchen meets our high standards.
  • Cook with Creativity: Follow guidelines to cook and assemble dishes that are visually stunning and satisfyingly delicious.
  • Perfect Presentation: Focus on the details, ensuring each dish is a masterpiece that reflects Kimpton’s commitment to excellence.
  • Keep It Spotless: Adhere to the highest food safety and sanitation standards, keeping our kitchen clean, organized, and safe.
  • Maintain Equipment: Help keep our kitchen tools and equipment in prime condition, ready for action at all times.
  • Safety First: Follow all safety protocols to create a secure, efficient, and enjoyable working environment.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience: Previous experience in a commercial kitchen is a plus, but a passion for cooking and eagerness to learn are just as important.
  • Education: A Certificate in Commercial Cookery is preferred, and you might showcase your skills in a trial as part of the hiring process.
  • Skills: Attention to detail, creativity, and a love for culinary arts are key.
