As a Cook, you’ll play a key role in supporting the kitchen’s daily operations under the direction of the Head Chef and Sous Chef. You’ll prepare, cook, and present food to a high standard while maintaining cleanliness, organisation, and compliance with food safety and health regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and cook high-quality dishes in line with hotel standards and menu specifications.
Assist with daily mise en place and ensure the kitchen is ready for service.
Maintain kitchen cleanliness and ensure all equipment is cleaned and stored correctly.
Monitor stock levels, assist with receiving and storing deliveries, and minimise wastage.
Follow all food safety and hygiene procedures (HACCP and WHS standards).
Support a positive team culture by communicating effectively and assisting colleagues as needed.
Uphold all safety, fire, and emergency procedures while using correct manual handling techniques.
About You
Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent qualification.
Food Safety Certification.
Previous experience in a similar role within a hotel or restaurant environment.
A passion for cooking, creativity, and delivering quality food consistently.
Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
Flexible availability, including weekends and public holidays.
Physically fit and able to meet the demands of a busy kitchen environment.
