Position Overview

We’re looking for a Hotel Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of Hotel Indigo Brisbane City Centre. In this role, you’ll be responsible for delivering exceptional guest experiences, driving operational efficiency, and managing financial performance. While your primary focus will be on Hotel Indigo, this role also includes overseeing key operational functions at voco Brisbane City Centre, ensuring alignment, efficiency, and high service standards across both properties.

 

You will manage service provider relationships (including Front Office, Food & Beverage, and Housekeeping) to ensure they meet brand standards and business objectives. You will also ensure compliance with IHG brand standards and local regulations, including safety, emergency procedures, and other regulatory requirements. This role will require you to lead and collaborate with teams to maintain a seamless guest journey across both properties.

What you'll do:

  • Demonstrate proven experience in hotel management, ideally within a branded environment.
  • Utilise strong financial and operational management skills to oversee daily hotel operations.
  • Assist in developing, implementing, and monitoring financial and operational plans for the hotel during pre- and post-opening periods.
  • Participate in the preparation of the annual departmental operating budget and financial plans.
  • Monitor and control budgeted expenses, labour costs, and operational expenses.
  • Collaborate with Revenue Centre and Finance to review trading forecasts and use financial analysis to maximise returns.
  • Ensure security of financial transactions, guest security, and inventory control.
  • Manage the hotel's P&L, forecast financial performance, and make strategic decisions to drive profitability.
  • Direct staffing requirements, plan and assign work, and establish performance goals for team members.
  • Ensure compliance with IHG brand standards and local regulations.
  • Provide mentoring, coaching, and regular feedback to improve team performance.
  • Ensure compliance with brand standards, WH&S, and governmental regulations.
  • Oversee recruitment, selection, and onboarding of colleagues.
  • Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination.
  • Ensure guest satisfaction by providing prompt service, responding to complaints, and conducting routine inspections.
  • Analyse guest satisfaction data and develop plans to achieve goals.
  • Support business development initiatives and maintain a presence in the local community.

 

Who you are:

We’re looking for a Hotel Manager with proven experience in hotel management, strong leadership, and operational skills such as:

  • Proven experience in hotel management, preferably in a branded environment.
  • Strong financial and operational management skills.
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
  • Knowledge of IHG brand standards and local regulations.
  • Ability to manage a P&L, forecast, and make strategic decisions.
  • Experience with hotel management software (Opera & Micros is advantageous).
  • Previous experience in a General Manager, Hotel Manager, Director of Rooms, or Director of F&B role.
  • Knowledge of OHS/WHS, EEO, Anti-Discrimination legislation, and the Hospitality Industry General Awards.
  • Must hold or be willing to obtain a First Aid certificate and QLD RMLV and RSA certificates.
  • A strong commercial orientation and strategic mindset.
