The Role
As Portfolio General Manager, you’ll be responsible for overseeing the performance of three iconic properties, ensuring the highest standards of guest service, operational excellence, and financial performance. You will lead two General Managers, at our respective Indigo Hotels, guiding them in driving profitability, guest satisfaction, and brand standards while fostering a culture of leadership and innovation across the portfolio. You’ll balance strategic vision with hands-on management, continually identifying new opportunities for growth, collaboration, and improved guest experiences.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Strategy: Provide leadership across the portfolio of properties, ensuring all operations align with Kimpton and Indigo's values and goals.
Guest Experience: Champion exceptional guest experiences and lead efforts to ensure consistency in service quality across all properties.
Financial Management: Oversee financial performance across the portfolio, ensuring profitability, cost management, and financial targets are achieved.
Operational Excellence: Ensure all properties meet the highest operational standards and drive continuous improvement in guest service, amenities, and overall performance.
Revenue Optimization: Develop and implement strategies to maximize revenue and occupancy across all properties, collaborating with Sales and Marketing teams to identify growth opportunities.
Brand Integrity: Uphold and promote the Kimpton and Indigo brands, ensuring brand standards and quality are maintained at each property.
Talent Development: Inspire and develop General Managers and their teams, fostering a culture of collaboration, professional growth, and accountability.
Community Engagement: Build strong relationships with local communities and partners to enhance the reputation and visibility of the properties.
What We’re Looking For
Proven experience as a General Manager or senior leadership role, with a strong background in managing multiple properties in the luxury or lifestyle hotel sector.
Exceptional leadership and people management skills, with a history of building high-performing teams.
Strong financial acumen and experience with budgeting, forecasting, and P&L management across multiple locations.
A strategic mindset with the ability to implement and drive long-term business goals.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
A passion for hospitality, with a focus on delivering memorable and personalized guest experiences.
Experience in fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement across a diverse portfolio.
A deep understanding of the Australian market, particularly Sydney, and the ability to identify and capitalize on growth opportunities.
