About the role

We are looking for a talented individual to join our team and contribute to our growth and success. Working closely with the VP Commercial and wider Commercial leadership team, you will focus on opportunities to hit revenue targets and maximise performance both in the short and long term across the portfolio of Mainstream hotels, drive acquisition and fair share and deliver on gross operating profit across the portfolio.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop and implement short and long-term sales strategies for the Mainstream business, ensuring tactical plans are created and implemented and results are monitored to achieve revenue, room night, market share and GOP goals. 
  • Oversee coordination of request for proposal for Mainstream hotels, business case strategy, pricing, strategic negotiations and outcomes. Liaise with chain partners, complying with protocols and deadlines as required. Track progress of contracted outcomes to hotel budgeted targets, employing new business targets and strategies to address any gap to room night or rate.
  • Regularly review business performance across the portfolio and understand the dynamics of the local market, demand generators, economic and consumer trends.  Adapt strategies and develop mitigation plans.
  • Maintain strong presence in the local community by participating in approved business / industry organisations, associations and developing a broad external network.
  • Strategically identify opportunities for alignment of resource and talent, qualifications & experience, leading recruitment and training as necessary.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in related field or function.
  • Proven ability to lead a broad sales team to achieve performance targets.
  • In-depth knowledge of sales processes, tools, and techniques across multiple chain and non-chain brands.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexible and adaptable work approach.
