At Kimpton, we are all about heartfelt human connections, offering unique, personal experiences. We believe our colleagues are at the heart of everything we do, and we want passionate individuals who share our drive to deliver the best in hospitality. About the Role
Kimpton Margot Sydney is looking for a passionate and dedicated Commis Chef to join our kitchen team. You’ll be working under the guidance of our Head Chef and Senior Sous Chef to create extraordinary culinary experiences. Whether you’re in the restaurant or one of our cocktail bars, you’ll play a vital role in preparing fresh, nutritious, and visually appealing dishes that delight our guests.

If you’re ready to take your culinary skills to the next level and be a part of something special, this is the role for you!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation of ingredients and mise en place for various dishes.

  • Measure, cut, and portion ingredients according to established recipes.

  • Maintain high standards of ingredient quality, freshness, and presentation.

  • Cook and assemble dishes under the supervision of senior chefs, ensuring consistent quality and taste.

  • Contribute to creating visually appealing plates that align with Kimpton’s standard of culinary artistry.

  • Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and hygiene standards.

  • Support the maintenance of kitchen equipment and utensils.

  • Uphold safety protocols to ensure a secure, productive working environment.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Previous experience in a commercial kitchen (ideal but not mandatory).

  • A Certificate in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent qualification).

  • A passion for food and a keen eye for detail.

  • An eagerness to learn and develop culinary skills under the guidance of experienced chefs.

  • The ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

  • A team player who enjoys collaborating and delivering top-notch service.

  • Flexibility and a positive attitude towards learning new skills.

Why Work With Us?
At Kimpton, we believe in creating opportunities for growth, personal development, and making meaningful connections—both with our colleagues and our guests. As part of the Kimpton family, you'll be working in an environment where creativity and individuality are celebrated, and every day brings a new opportunity to shine.
