      Reporting to the Front Office Manager, as the Assistant Front Office Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth running of the hotel operations through effectively leading, motivating and developing your team. You and your team will provide a neighborhood experience that is inspiring through individual storytelling by design.

      Position Requirements:

      • Directing day-to-day staffing requirements, plan and assign work, and assist in the establishment of performance and development goals for the Front Office Team.
      • Coordinate and oversee the running of the hotel in the absence of Senior Management.
      • Handle and resolve any guest concerns effectively with confidence and in a professional manner.
      • Ensure the team is consistently being trained and developed for future growth opportunities.
      • Check rooms, making sure any special requests are carried out accordingly.
      • Build and maintain positive relationships with all internal customers and guests in order to anticipate their needs.
      • Be present during peak periods, including acting as Manager on Duty when required.
      • Review Profit & Loss statements and identify areas of excellence and areas that need to be monitored more closely for the future.

      You will possess:

      • Previous experience as a Assistant Front Office Manager or Duty Manager in a 4/5 star hotel is essential.
      • Technology and system savvy, experience with MS Office, PMS (Opera) and POS (Simphony) will be advantageous.
      • Professional verbal and written communication skills and an eye for detail.
      • Impeccable grooming and presentation.
      • The ability to multi-task, work under pressure and problem solve effectively.
      • The flexibility to work a 24/7 roster, including public holidays and weekends.
      • A current First Aid Certificate and RSA Qualification.
