The Holiday Inn Express and Suites Queenstown is one of Queenstown's newest hotels. Located in the prime position on the corner of Stanley and Sydney streets in Queenstown, providing close proximity to the city centre, shopping, entertainment, outdoor activities, and popular ski destinations. The 227-room, 4 Star hotel features a selection of well-designed hotel room types and suites to cater for all types of travellers, whether that be for work or play. We're looking for a Full Time Duty Manager, a person who is smart and considerate – those that have "nice person" written all over them. We're after fast-thinking, customer focused problem solvers that take pride in creating and delivering great customer experiences. In this role you will monitor the operations of the hoel and provide support to all departments, taking charge of any escalated issues - so problem solving and thinking on your feet will be high on the agenda!

This role will be working on a 7-day, 24-hour roster, 40 hours per week.

What you'll do

- You'll perform front office and F&B duties as required by operations.

- You will supervise and direct reservations, reception, food & beverage, conferences, maintenance, and housekeeping activities while on shift and assist in the delivery of training – making your mark and influencing Express Agents to deliver an excellent service.

- You'll maintain attendance records and assist with the creation of rosters.

- You've got a good eye for detail – our processes are super important in helping us deliver a consistent guest experience.

- You'll be a brilliant communicator - consistently clear and concise.

- You will assess and review customer satisfaction and assist in putting actions in place to constantly improve our services and meet our guests expectations.

- You'll help us problem solve, as we're still building our business; we have solutions to find – your logical thinking and collaboration with teams across the business will be key.

- Enforce work health and safety, you will be responsible for our guests and colleagues safety while on shift and will lead all emergency procedures as well as evacuations.

- You will be responsible for the service of alcohol as required by the operation.

What you'll bring

- At least 8 months previous experience working as a Guest Service Agent with PMS experience.

- Previous F&B experience will be advantageous.

- Professional and personable, with a "role up the sleeves", can do attitude.

- You make calm, collected decisions – even against the clock.

- Strong team working skills and a passion for delivering superior results.

- Excellent customer service, spoken and written communication & phone skills.

- You will be required to hold or obtain a First Aid certificate and a Manager Certificate.

- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management.

- You must meet the appropriate legal requirements to work in New Zealand.
